Istanbul Day 2,3 & 4

Day was tight and occupied with work from morning till night. The agency team, the conference participants, PROTON team members. *sigh* Trying to please everyone with all sort of character and background was the hardest thing..Ever! Conversing in simple English sentence require double of my time just to ensure right message is being delivered to the recipient. God, should have learnt sign language before kan?!!! My patience was pushed to its limit several times, trying to keep my temper at bay and maintaining my calm was not easy. Twin and Hulya have been my punching bag, I bitched and whined a lot..! opss Nonetheless, there were so many sweet memories with all participants and most importantly, conference’s objective was achieved and it has been such a good challenge for me and Twin. We did it and am happy :)

Day 2

Ready to start-up. My very first meeting in Istanbul with Ms. Hulya.

Night-Hopping from one dinner venue to another

At last, found a niceee fine dining witha scenic Bosphorous view. Gila cantik.
It's called Archipel. Apparently, it is a famous restaurant even among VVIP and celebrities from all over the world. Hmm good choice.

Starter: Wide selection of seafood. Supper scrumptious. From 60Euro per pax
Day 3: Conference started

hmmmmm wonder what did i say that time ?!!

Twin in action
Day 4-Conferene ended
Clsing dinner at Archipel. Remember i did went to survey for this place earlier and it took me about 45 mins from our hotel. But do u know how long did we actually take on the real day itself? We were really fucked...it took us 2 hours to get there...!!!!!!!! Biggest shit for the conference, traffic was really reallly bad and out of ordinary. HELL!!!
.

.
.

Luckily, the moment dinner was served with beautiful setting and ambience, I could see the smiley faces again..PHEWWWWWWWWW (only then I got my appetite-dinner was really good fyi)

Didem- The best assistant
With one young and aggressive team member newly in, I am so looking forward for the next BIG thing. At least i still have hope here :)

BORING

Just attended my first day of marriage course at Bangsar. Seriusly, I don’t see the benefit that it brings when the presentation is merely reading from slides and jokes that I can hardly understand…erghhhhhh..Seat provided is not comfortable at all that my whole body is aching only after 5 hours of sitting. How can I stand another 12 hours tomorrow…?? Yikess…….I seriously think they should revise the syllabus and be more flexible in arranging the schedule! I’m so gonna bring my ipod and some magazines tomorrow...

I wonder how can this type of 2 days course help in reducing divorce rate in Malaysia and help in strengthening marriage relationship between couple? NO..

Istanbul Day 1

Istanbul is one of the oldest city and you can see the remains of many, many ancient buildings and their vibrant culture in harmony of its modernization. It is the old versus new, traditional versus modern, a city that is full of contrast and calmness at the same time. Unique eh?

It is a cosmopolitan city that was built on 2 continents- Asian and European side.
With the limited time at hand, we only got to visit the European side which is the commercial and cultural center, and it is further divided into the Old City and Modern City by a narrow path of water called The Goldern Horn.

First Half Day
After 13 hours of journey, decided to waste no time and headed to the old city for few historical places. I reminded myself many times to explore places and stuffs that I wouldn’t be able to find in KL or any other big cities. What I wanna see and experience is their local authentic stuffs that are unique. For the first half day, we visited the infamous Topkapı Palace - Hagia Sophia - Blue Mosque. All i can say is beautiful, beautiful and beautiful. So here goes lotsa of pictures

oh yes, i couldnt stop eating, everything looks yummy, one after another :) I tried almost all that they sell by the roadside.

Hagia Sophia
Thulgul was almost arrested for being an external translator to us. We didnt know they have the official translator that u have to pay for their services..Oppsie! I am not that interested either for further explanation on each historical item *yawn* C6 for my history paper *yawn*
Just appreciating the beautiful sight :)

Coffee infront of Blue Mosque..i loike!

and again, small bites for late lunch

She is just adorable, isnt she?

Note: We even went to their pasar malam downtown..cool!
Remaining of the day which is 7pm anyway, resting and preparing for meeting with the agency tomorrow. Excited! and sight-seeing in between for dinner venue selection. Interesting really!

Sartorialist KL style?

Oh anyway, in between replying some office mails and browsing today, came across this blog. Malaysia’s version of the Sartorialist. Kinda cool & creative attempt I think

- Merhaba -

Wehooo Alhamdullilah, i had a great and safe jouney to Istanbul. Just gonna upload few first pictures first :)

Mr.Thulgul a.k.a The Man in Black as our honorable and dedicated chauffeur/guard :)

The Go-Getter Ms. Twin is a lil bit too confident and brave enough to actually drive from the Ataturk Airport to our hotel…Eheemmmmm not a good idea but never mind, let the lady herself get some experience of driving our very own Gen-2 in Turkey’s ever congested and disorganized traffic system. U gotta be kidding Twin & I am risking my life for u..:P

Phew…alhamdullilah we were at the Ibis hotel after 10 mins drive, safe & sound :) I was definitely exhausted but too excited to get on moving…

In the hotel room - minimalist design but comfortable enough for two

Saturday, March 22

The week earlier, i managed to spare sometime to go out and have a simple fun after those crazy days at work.

Aby’s Wedding at Dewan Perdana

Dinner at the apartment. To be frank, I never really like the food here except ‘chicken in the bag’. But considering the easiest access to the Curve, we decided to head there anyway.

Daa!

Ready to Go

The anticipation is finally approaching the end, not yet but almost there.hehehhehehe
I am now ready for boarding to Istanbul. Couldn’t wait to meet Ms. Agency so we can walk through the conference’s itinerary for the very last time. It’s gonna be big and definitely very new to my realm of work, so am expecting few hiccup here and there. Never mind, yang penting to make our best for its success.

See u!
XOXO

No Drama Mama

After reading serendipity's blog, i did mine:

No need for drama
you just chill out and don't let things bother you
You've got a peaceful, zen-like attitude... even when things get crazy
You're a pleasure to be around, and you have lots of friends to show for it
You don't need to be the center of attention, you're happy enough as is!

http://www.blogthings.com/howmuchofadramaqueenareyouquiz/

Whoever that superlatives me as a Drama Queen in FB…you are wrong!
I am a cool mama..:P

------

Ahem…i am so happy that I am not working today :D
Wehoo.
Taking my own sweet time in doing whatever my heart desires..*wink*
Head straight to the nearest mall, browsing and reading at MPH
Head back home for nice lunch *wink*
On my laptop, get connected and still am connected in front of my lappy, for 6 hours straight now?!! WoooooOOoo it just feels weird not being connected, checked and replied some office mail, the rest is just browsing aimlessly in the cyberspace.

Of all my reading today, i find this particular article on Iran’s election rather interesting and somehow related to the political tsunami that we are facing right now:

‘Asked if he will vote, one shop owner here says, "Vote for whom? All they do is talk! Ahmadinejad is a good man; at least he's not corrupt, but all he can do is talk! Where's the action? It's all slogans." A few stores down, a car mechanic says, "I'm not sure I'll vote, but I'll tell you that a lot of others here will. Do you know how many martyrs this town has given to the Iran-Iraq war? People are invested here. And then you have the candidates coming here and advertising and giving lunches and dinners, it doesn't take much to get people's votes.’

Same ol same ol..Politic is just a manipulative game! Period.

Did i actually vote u may ask?? No..

Grumpy Not-So-Old Lady!

Talking about wedding previously, i forgot to mention that i am actually busy organizing a product conference for Proton's Middle East distributors! *sigh* in less than 3 weeks ...shaitt!! thinking of it make me sweating and wanna puke!!!! yikes...*sigh* again!! Why why and why am i organizing this..First, havent been to Istanbul before. Second, i hate travelling SO Damn Much (why am i putting myself in this new department, u ask me??!!!!!). Third, not many of them can speak good English, so i have trouble communicating with my hotel and agency there! Fourth..the time difference worsen the situation ( i wanna go back no later than 630 pm u see!!!) Fifth..I have to travel alone from Istanbul to KL and the transit gonna take more than 6 hours (refer point #2 )
Sixth..I want more $$$$ (Some might think i am greedy but i deserve more).Period

Hate Monday..i have 9 hours to Monday..:((( Do u sometimes wish that u can stop the time..??

Monday Blues on the way!

What i hate MOST is Monday....Blerghhhhh esk keje :( Why no cuti tomorrow???? I was so bloody confident Monday gonna be a public holiday..too bad!!!!!! eeee geram!

Olaaaa....

Since many of you are planning to get engaged or married this year, i wanna share some good recommendation based on my personal search of these wedding thingy so far:

Photographer: 2 that I loveeeeeee most
candidsyndrome at http://www.candidsyndrome.com/v4/ (Saiful Nang is super friendly despite his popularity, pictures perfect and vibrant colors) &
Iskandar Ibrahim at http://www.iskandaribrahim.com/ (natural and authentic picture with lots of story behind it)

Wedding Planner: Variety of them, just have to put extra effort in searching and exploring till u find one that really satisfy u. Precious moments is on top of my list at the moment for its subtle and soft color selection

Alternatively, surf these few website just to get an idea(especially if ur a web junkie or lazy to be precise..hehehhe! Padahal bole je beli magazine but too lazy la)
-wishingtree.com
-table10.com.my
-sunfllower.com.my
-eventswizard.net
-ec-event.com
-excellentsense.com
-creativelines.com
-4weddingku.blogspot.com & http://elizaelies.fotopages.com/

Go and jalan2 at Jalan TAR or Petaling Street just to check out those unpopular and seclude stores that might sell various gifts box at distributor’s price

There are plenty of selection and bet u gonna be pening.....am still pening on all these...gd luck!!!

Jungle Jerry - recapturing the past!

Having spans more than 10 years and being the King of Mix within the Malaysia’s Club scene, I must say Jungle Jerry's mix is just awesome!
So my attempt today is to google as much about him…interesting! Something different and refreshing than my usual boring net-surfing!

Do u know that I used to dream to be a popular DJ when I was 16..heeheh and to be a student of Playaz,Hartamas..gile terpengaruh dengan muzik too much, but of course is not allowed by my parents..eeeeghhh! I dont mind sending my kids tho..

Recapturing my days at backroom, Zouk and Nuovo back then …those were the days!
Now dah tua sakit-sakit belakang aaaa…so softer music pleaseee..;P

V-Day Lunch

Like I mentioned earlier, nothing special did I do with him for valentines, but probably our visit to see Ema would be considered as our V-day lunch celebration…..hmmm wait.. visiting her at the hospital for minor injury as a celebration??? Nah, but more of kesyukuran for being discharged yesterday, GET WELL SOON soon babe! ingat2 sikit2 sebelum nak melompat2 k..hehe :)

Friday, February 15

Last day: Bandung.

Hmm most said it’s cheap over here but nothing special for me tho. The same stuffs that you can get over here (probably cheaper in KL after 50% reduction during our Mega Sales). But I love the sight of the city: chill, fun and colorful.

Like a small kid, i was so agog with excitement with the bubble balloon in the air..syiok gile!

Being an extrovert, i get lotsa energy from all those crowd and kelam-kabutness of the road situation..hehe..Meriah!

Memang such a camera-whores kan.hehehe ok ok last shots before saying good bye!

Till my next visit soon!

Not forgetting, Happy belated V-day all, normal question to ask..what did u do? actually, nothing :D Just like any other day, spreading my love to all ;) Bye

I said 'no, no, no'..lalala

Ok, I do think she is a crackhead with such a weird personality and bizarre fashion sense, but still am a big fan of her soulful voice and pleasant-sounding music! Congratulation to Amy Winehouse’w wins at Grammys.

p/s: She spent $1000 a day on drugs according to the tabloid, OMG.

dailymail.co.uk

‘They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No, no, no"Yes, I've been black but when I come back you'll know, know, know I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine He's tried to make me go to rehab, I won’t go, go, go’ Rehab song from Back to Black Album

Rehab definitely is the answer..

Thursday & Friday

Jakarta is dubbed as the Big Durian by foreigners, probably for its shock at first sight (and smell) caused by the overly congested city, chaotic traffic congestion, pollution and social-income disparity.

With population of 10 millions people packed into a vast urban sprawl, together with sharp increase of car users, has made the city’s traffic in perpetual gridlock. Mancit is such a common sight (but I guess we are so used to it here anyway) but one thing that I hate most is the indiscplined and reckless drivers. Macam stunt hero bawak kereta, gile! Oh and the awful road condition. It has caused me a bad backache, worse then riding in a drift car with Boyfie.

Permisi Pak..Morning faces, ready to go!

I won’t talk much on its metropolis swanky malls (Plaza Senayan & Plaza Indonesia & etc) with designer boutiques, pretty much the same here or in any other major cities. What interests me more is the incredible disparity between the wealth of Indonesia’s elite and the poverty of the urban poor, very upsetting! Especially those children street-beggars in muddy lanes. I guess the rapid population growth has outgrown the government’s ability to provide basic necessity and sufficient infrastructure.

Senayan + Plaza Indonesia
malls+shopping :) what else is new??..that is what we women do best :P..and it will never end (thats the reason why i rarely blog about my shopping cause it will never end...its becoming a routine)

Having said that, my mata tetap berjaya dibersihkan..ahhahahahhahahahahhahah…too many pretty ladies and hot handsome hunks…isk isk isk…*sigh* ( That doesn’t include those beautiful peoples at popular night spot i.e Dragonfly, CJ @ Hotel Mulia, Kemang Area ). *sob sob* We have to forego our plan to those clubs due to our overly hectic schedule. By 11ish, all knocked out tired.

mommy, the wedding planner!

Not forgetting of course, the diversity of Indonesia vibrant culture. Love it!

At least they earn the money that they asked for....walaupun suara tak sedap la kan!!!!heheheh but if i were to do that, it will bring heavy downpour and thunderstorm..hahhahahahhahahha :P

Next, Saturday & Sunday departure...
